Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of the Consultant/Clinical Director.
Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients, including ordering and interpreting investigations and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
Attend clinics, ward rounds, meetings, and case conferences, ensuring appropriate follow-up and documentation of actions.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues while maintaining professional standards of ethics and confidentiality.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, risk management activities, and investigations relating to healthcare delivery.
Work within professional competence, seeking advice and support when appropriate in line with best practice and clinical governance principles.
Comply with relevant legislation, organisational policies, and contractual obligations, including working time requirements.
Identify, assess, document, and report risks, hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with organisational policy.
Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and sustainable healthcare environment.
Engage in induction, mandatory training, continuing professional development, and performance review processes.
Maintain professional knowledge, contribute to service audits, and support ongoing improvements in healthcare delivery.
Undertake additional duties as required in line with the needs of the service and the evolving requirements of the role.
Key Requirements
General IMC registration or in the final process of registering with IMC
Full Professional exams, for example, MRCEM etc. or in process of professional exams, would help your application
Proven post internship experience in Emergency Medicine
Irish / EU / UK or South African Hospital experience desirable but not essential
You will need to have passed either the IELTS or OET exam and hold a valid certificate. The two accepted standards are IELTS overall Band 7, not less than 6.5 in each domain or OET Grade B overall
