Location: DublinContract: Full time,Specific PurposeThe purpose of this role is to To assist the Manager in providing effective leadership and supervision to both the Residential staff and Aftercare Support and Settlement staff. To manage the daily operations and ensure the smooth running of the service.What You Will DoSupport the Manager in leading Residential and Aftercare Support teams, ensuring effective supervision and guidance.Oversee daily operations, staffing rosters, and relief coordination to maintain smooth service delivery.Manage referrals and allocations, liaising with resource panels and preparing apartments for new placements.Chair team meetings, conduct performance appraisals, and promote staff development and training.Ensure compliance with Focus Ireland policies, including GDPR, Health Safety, and complaints procedures.Maintain accurate records, case files, and reports, and monitor rents and petty cash returns.Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver high-quality services and resolve issues.Implement and review project policies and procedures to support targeted interventions and evaluations.Participate in on-call management, agency meetings, and contribute to monthly project reporting.Act as Manager in their absence to ensure continuity and effective service management.What You Will NeedA relevant 3rd level qualification in Social Care or relevant disciplineExperience working in a supervisory or leadership position in the relevant field.Previous Experience of managing challenging behaviour.Excellent working knowledge of youth services and policies.Excellent communication skills with particular emphasis on written and verbal advocacy while being able to deal with vulnerable and marginalised groups in a very busy environment as required.Excellent knowledge of the principles of good practice for the protection of children, and a good working knowledge of child protection procedures, residential care system, health and safety policy, National aftercare policy and drugs and alcohol policy.Good working knowledge of Local Authority and voluntary housing agencies with experience in referral and advocacy to each.Focus Ireland is an equal opportunities employer.
