Our kitchen team at Ballymaloe House Hotel is seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join our culinary staff. Our commitment to using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients is central to our menu philosophy, which focuses on whole fish and meats.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior chefs as they progress in their culinary careers, learning and executing recipes based on seasonal ingredients while upholding our farm-to-fork approach.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and ensuring that the kitchen runs efficiently.
This role requires a balance of precision and creativity, delivering a unique and memorable dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in food preparation across various sections
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure the kitchen operates smoothly
* Work closely with senior chefs to develop and execute recipes based on seasonal ingredients
* Comply with Health & Safety procedures
* Attend training sessions within the department as required
* Properly store unused items at the end of each shift
* Clean and sanitise the kitchen after service
