Responsibilities
Manage and monitor the activities of all employees working at night‑time, ensuring adherence to standards of excellence, hotel policies, and procedures, and providing coaching, training and corrective action where needed.
Direct and oversee all hotel operations during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
Conduct a briefing for all staff during the night shift.
Inform all overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals, special requests and repeat guests.
Check accommodations, ensuring special requests are fulfilled, greet guests upon arrival and escort them to accommodations if appropriate.
Maintain a professional, high‑quality service‑oriented environment at all times.
Act as manager on duty for the hotel, handling complaints, problem‑solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that arise.
Coordinate front‑office activities with other departments while ensuring all employees perform tasks assigned to them.
Welcome guests to the hotel in a friendly manner and keep public areas clean and tidy.
Assist guests with luggage, serve as a point of contact and ensure all requirements are met during their stay.
Participate in decision‑making on guest relocation for nights when overcapacity, ensuring a smooth process coordinated with the Front Office Manager and/or Manager on Duty before the shift.
Monitor and develop team performance, providing supervision, scheduling, nighttime work assignment and training.
Ensure accurate completion of the daily night audit promptly; capable of performing the full night audit if required.
Oversee preparation of daily summary reports and set‑up of conferences and events according to function sheets.
Assist the Front Office Manager in implementing financial controls and standard operating procedures across the department, and help control operating expenses, scheduling and purchasing.
Demonstrate initiative, problem‑solving, staff training and team‑leading skills.
Work closely with Housekeeping to improve guest services and foster cross‑departmental communication.
Enforce all fire‑life‑safety procedures and remain current with new procedures and training.
Report suspicious persons, activities and/or hazardous conditions to the Security department and/or Front Office Manager.
