OverviewReporting directly to the Radiography Services Manager the position of Clinical Specialist Radiographer – Ultrasound has responsibility to lead, guide and supervise Radiography staff and to successfully manage service delivery on a day to day basis. Ability to manage in a rapidly changing environment and willingness to undertake such additional duties as may be assigned from time to time are essential.Ultrasound Department ContextThe Ultrasound Department at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH) is a multidisciplinary department. In addition to Radiography duties, the Clinical Specialist will liaise with Consultant Radiologists, CNM3 of Radiology, Referring Clinical teams, Administration Team Manager, Chief Physicist, Advanced Practice Radiographer, Radiology Directorate Manager and the Radiography Services Manager to assist in planning and developing a quality professional service to the patient cohort.ResponsibilitiesLead, guide and supervise Radiography staff and manage service delivery on a day to day basis.Coordinate the usage of Ultrasound units across the department including 4 Diagnostic Ultrasound rooms, 1 Interventional Ultrasound suite, 3 Ultrasound units in Interventional Radiology and mobile Ultrasound Units.Ensure correct usage of ultrasound systems by non-Radiography staff and ensure systems are serviced and maintained to ensure optimum image quality at all times.Collaborate with radiology and clinical teams to plan and develop a quality professional service for the patient cohort.How to InquireInformal Enquiries:Liam DowneyRadiography Services Manager IIIliamdowney@mater.ie
