Health & Safety Officer
for their Dublin team. With over 100 years of construction expertise, they offers a strong safety-first culture, excellent professional support, and exposure to a wide range of public and private sector projects.
This is a
site-based position
, ideal for a degree-qualified H&S professional who has already gained solid construction site experience in Ireland and is looking to further develop their career within a reputable Tier 2 contractor.
You will work closely with the
Health & Safety Manager
,
Contracts Manager
, and
Director of Construction
, and benefit from ongoing mentorship through the SHEQ team and monthly independent site audits.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote and maintain a strong site safety culture at all times.
* Monitor, evaluate, and act on any site safety risks, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
* Support the SHEQ Manager in identifying training needs and staff development.
* Assist with internal health & safety audits and attend relevant site meetings.
* Prepare and maintain safety documentation: method statements, risk assessments, safety statements.
* Contribute to updates and improvements of company policies and procedures.
* Ensure all safety performance standards are maintained and communicated effectively across site teams.
Skills & Experience Required
* Professional H&S degree qualification
(essential).
* 4-5+ years' Irish construction site experience
in a safety role.
* Proven track record of promoting safe, accident-free environments.
* Experience with
ISO standards (9001, 14001, and SafeT Cert
advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and best practice.
* Experience preparing tender safety documentation is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Strong organisational, administrative, and IT proficiency.
* Full driver's licence, Safe Pass, and Manual Handling certification required.
