Overview
Abbott in Ireland maintains a strong presence in Ireland since **** and employs more than 6,200 people across ten sites.
The company supports the Irish healthcare sector with a broad portfolio spanning diagnostics, diabetes care, medical devices and nutritional products.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support relating to equipment used in the manufacturing areas by repairing, maintaining, or modifying production equipment using technical manuals, schematic drawings, precision tools, and test equipment.
Respond to assembly line equipment repair calls, diagnose equipment problems, and perform necessary repairs.
Document equipment qualifications and upgrades, including preventative maintenance and parts used, to ensure accurate repair history documentation in Asset Management Integrating Global Operations (AMIGO).
Maintain backup equipment and spare parts at required levels to meet manufacturing equipment needs.
Assist industrial, manufacturing, and quality engineers in the operation of equipment, and provide feedback on equipment issues to improve uptime.
Assist in constructing worktables, providing necessary utilities, and setting up equipment on manufacturing assembly lines.
Modify existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demands.
Qualifications
NFQ level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline and 4+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Extensive knowledge of advanced technical concepts and practices, with working knowledge of related disciplines.
Ability to interpret advanced numerical and statistical data and use computer software to present documentation and analysis; able to work in a quality system environment and comply with governmental regulations.
Performs complex technical assignments usually without established procedures; contributes to design, development, evaluation, or modification of equipment, materials, systems, or products.
Strong problem-solving, judgment, initiative, creativity, and leadership when troubleshooting and suggesting continuous improvement methods.
Mentor less senior employees, plan non-routine tasks, establish priorities, and may perform an AMIGO planning role for the department.
Ability to solve a wide range of complex problems and understand organizational structure and product lines.
Note: This role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule involving a rotating mix of day and night shifts.
The base pay is not disclosed; local pay ranges may vary by location.
This position may include medical surveillance as part of its requirements.
