We want people who are excited to learn, to challenge the status quo, and who are energized by building highly scalable and available systems on a global scale.Key job responsibilitiesProvide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. Act as the go-to engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, engaging with diverse teams to: perform design and equipment submittal review for security products in our Data Centers; troubleshoot and perform RCA with corrective action documentation for site/equipment failures; directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training and critical equipment/event reviews; review designs for existing and new products to improve security and efficiency; interface with internal design engineering teams, server hardware teams, and EHS teams to promote standards; work on concurrent projects across multiple regions; initiate and lead security site audits with risk and remediation reporting.You will balance strong technical depth with the soft skills required to collaborate across the company to mitigate emerging risk. Engineers in this role must demonstrate resilience and an aptitude for navigating complex problems with composure and tact, with a strong sense of customer obsession to keep Amazon and its customers secure.About the teamYou’ll join a diverse team of electrical, mechanical, controls, structural, and fire protection engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security at a reasonable cost, and you’ll experience an inclusive culture that empowers you to own your work to completion.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Security Systems, Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience with security systems within industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities)Knowledge of physical security assets (CCTV/IP cameras, access control systems, card readers, intrusion detection)Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals; ability to read technical drawings/schematicsAccess Control Management Systems experiencePreferred QualificationsStrong background with large-scale integrated security systems including cameras, access controls, and PIDsExperience troubleshooting networking and communications issues (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP/HTTPS, routing)Professional certificates such as CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, JNCIE, CompTIA Network+ or similarAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
