Checkout Manager Position Summary
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Checkout Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our checkout department, ensuring smooth and efficient service to customers.
Main Responsibilities:
* Overall management of the checkout department, including supervising staff and maintaining high standards of customer service.
* Ensuring the effective running of the department on a day-to-day basis, including rostering, queue management, and staff training.
* Covering the customer service desk and assisting customers with queries.
* Overseeing the store end of the home delivery service and adhering to relevant legislation.
* Maintaining high levels of housekeeping within the department.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years experience as a checkout manager or supervisor in a busy retail grocery environment.
* Experience working in a Super Valu or similar property is desirable but not essential.
* Strong people management skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
* Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
