Quantity Surveyor – Cork (M&E)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a growing life sciences team in Cork. Working closely with the Project Commercial Manager and client representatives, this role offers the chance to contribute to major projects while gaining invaluable experience across a wide range of commercial functions.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate and agree project scope variations with contractors and clients.
* Compile and finalise accounts.
* Report directly into the Project Commercial Team.
* Preparing tenders, analysing bids, negotiating and finalising subcontractor orders.
* Managing subcontractor financials from order through to final account.
* Maintaining site records, document control, and measurement records.
* Preparing forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
* Valuations and preparation of variations with full supporting detail.
* Updating and submitting projected final accounts in a timely manner.
* Liaising with and commercially influencing the site management team.
* Supporting cash flow management and insurance/warranty processes.
* Assisting in tenders as required.
* Supervise and support Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, ensuring quality of work.
* Take responsibility for maintaining accurate site records and control documents.
Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying
* Minimum 3 years' experience in life science projects
* Ability to utilise a range of technology platforms effectively.
* Strong understanding of the Standard Method of Measurement.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities.
* Strong time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Experience in building services (technical or commercial) is desirable but not essential.
