Job Description:
The position of Production Operations Manager is a pivotal role in the successful establishment and management of a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). Located in Naas, Ireland, this facility requires an experienced professional with a proven track record in production optimization and operations management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Production Optimisation: Identify best practices to enhance productivity and operational efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of materials processed.
* Operations Management: Lead daily activities including staff utilisation, material handling and resource allocation to maximise efficiency and meet production targets.
* Scheduling and Staff Oversight: Develop and implement work schedules to optimise team performance and minimise downtime. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve staff skills and morale.
* Cost and Efficiency Control: Oversee all operations to achieve cost-effectiveness and efficiency, closely monitoring fuel usage and implementing strategies to reduce waste and optimise resource allocation.
* Waste Handling Compliance: Ensure materials are processed and separated according to strict guidelines, adhering to local regulations and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
* Financial Accountability: Manage revenue and costs effectively, tracking weighbridge traffic and categorising waste for efficient processing and disposal.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Foster a culture of health and safety awareness, conducting regular training sessions and addressing any concerns promptly to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
* Maintenance Management: Implement and manage plant maintenance programs using Asset minder, ensure proper stock of spare parts and upskill maintenance staff as required.
* Operational Assistance: Provide support and cover leave for direct reports when necessary, demonstrating leadership and team-player skills.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in production or waste-processing environments, preferably with a focus on operational efficiency and employee development.
* Familiarity with multi-shift labour-intensive settings and the ability to lead by example, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
