Position Title: Cook Crosscare Food Services

Location: Portland Row Dublin 1 - with possible change in location depending on developments in Crosscare Food Services
Work Schedule: 35 Hours a Week, am
Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
Salary: €27,432 – €38,192 Depending on Experience
Reporting to: Manager, Crosscare Food Services
General Responsibilities
* To be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving meals daily.
* To prepare and fulfil all outside catering orders to a high standard.
* To ensure food quality and sufficient quantity by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organisation, presentation, portion control, storage, and sanitation of food products.
* To be creative and economical in the use of ingredients.
* To undertake clerical duties in respect of ordering supplies to reflect the daily menu, maintaining up to date stock lists of ingredients, completing all HACCP records and any administrative tasks relevant to this post.
* To be responsible for the supervision and instruction of assistant kitchen staff both paid and voluntary.
* To ensure that all working in the kitchen wear appropriate clothing and head apparel.
* To ensure correct use of cutting boards, temperature probes, kitchen equipment and complete the relevant paperwork required.
* To assist in the defrosting and cleaning of refrigerators and freezers and maintain and record a daily temperate chart.
* Daily and in conjunction with the kitchen staff ensure that, after use, crockery, utensils, equipment and all kitchen areas are left clean and tidy before leaving the premises.
* To be responsible for ensuring that all goods received are checked against invoices and report any discrepancies to suppliers, checking that these are rectified with assistance from the Manager if necessary.
* To be responsible for reporting any defects in kitchen equipment to the Manager.
* Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the service.
* To attend supervision sessions as required.
* To undertake training as required to meet the requirements of the post.
* To help maintain the standard of hygiene following a cleaning schedule and recording system throughout the kitchen/cafe in accordance with the Food Act, and observe the HACCP, and other Health Safety Regulations, including the duty to report any risks to the Food Centre Manager.
* To observe Fire Precautions and Procedures.
* To comply in all respects with the Crosscare's Policies and Procedures.
* To undertake any other duties as may be deemed appropriate by the Food Centre Manager.
