About The Role
We’re looking for the very best talent to join us at this exciting time in our journey, as we continue to strengthen our market leader position by providing an even better customer experience. We have an exciting new role for a Business Development Manager working regionally with the primary aim of winning and developing revenue streams from large major customers in the Mechanical and Engineering sector. The applicant will require extensive experience of low level access, pipe jointing equipment and other sector-specific equipment with great relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
Working closely with the sales and account management team to develop and deliver a commercial strategy for our products to achieve high ROI goals in line with Sunbelt Rentals' objectives.
This involves optimizing revenue through multiple sales channels, identifying and marketing differentiated value propositions, and implementing training programs to improve customer experience and order conversion rates.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Create and implement performance management processes for the PA Sales community.
* Develop and manage regional project pipelines to drive new business.
* Collaborate with the National accounts team to increase market share within national accounts.
* Implement sales and marketing strategies leveraging Sunbelt Rentals’ solutions for working at height.
* Develop training programs to enhance product knowledge and safety awareness.
* Align marketing campaigns with new and underutilized products.
* Identify new markets and create strategies to gain market share.
* Develop pricing systems to improve governance and ROI.
* Promote cross-selling opportunities across divisions.

About You
We will support your training and development to ensure your success. To succeed as a Business Development Manager, you should have:
* Experience in account management and the plant and tool hire industry, preferably in sales or contract management.
* Confidence and ability to develop strong relationships with external stakeholders and lead tender bids.
* Ability to collaborate with procurement, marketing, and sales teams.

* Extensive sales experience with large customers.
* Experience managing and developing sales teams.
* Strong commercial acumen.
* Experience in tender and bid writing.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Understanding of hire contracts and terms.
* Ability to work across teams to build proposals and contracts.
