Job Summary Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, the Maintenance and Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of all equipment, plant, and property to maximize production output.
This is a day-shift role (Monday to Friday), where uptime during operational hours is critical.
As a key member of the site management team, the role involves active participation in daily operations, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The manager will oversee both reactive and preventive maintenance, managing internal teams, contractors, and third-party providers, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Ensure manufacturing equipment performance meets or exceeds KPIs.
Develop and implement training strategies for maintenance technicians.
Execute and monitor planned preventative maintenance schedules.
Conduct periodic reviews and drive continuous improvement projects.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety and Quality standards.
Lead preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Manage the Maintenance Department budget.
Own and manage maintenance planning systems.
Supervise the maintenance technician team.
Establish and maintain maintenance procedures in a GMP manufacturing environment.
Support optimisation across production, utilities, and intake.
Set and optimise performance standards across plant processes.
Collaborate with Quality and Production teams on process improvements.
Use data insights to drive performance enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve plant performance issues.
Oversee utilities management.
Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience: Qualified electrician, fitter, or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including refrigeration, conveyors, and packaging systems.
Proven experience managing maintenance teams in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Experience with preventive maintenance systems and project management.
