The HR Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all HR activities, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with employment legislation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing HR strategies that foster a positive work culture and facilitate the growth and performance of employees within the organization. Experience in the Early Years industry is a plus. Some travel is required; must have access to your own transport.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Relations:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations and industrial relations issues, providing guidance to managers and staff on employee matters.
o Promote a positive and inclusive workplace environment by fostering open communication and resolving conflicts.
2. Talent Acquisition:
o Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviews, selection, and onboarding in collaboration with managers.
o Understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
3. Training & Development:
o Conduct performance appraisals and support managers in performance management processes.
o Manage mandatory training and identify additional training needs through supervision.
4. Compliance & Policies:
o Ensure adherence to Irish employment law and regulations.
o Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks compliant with legal standards.
5. Employee Engagement:
o Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
o Collect and analyze feedback from employee surveys for continuous improvement.
6. HR Administration:
o Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
o Oversee HR functions such as contracts, probation periods, and terminations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Education: Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; CIPD qualification is desirable.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years HR experience, including 1 year in a managerial role; experience in Early Years/Childcare is highly desirable; strong knowledge of Irish employment law.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; problem-solving and decision-making abilities; proficiency in HR software and MS Office; confidentiality handling.
* Other Attributes: Leadership, organizational skills, emotional intelligence, ability to work independently and in teams.
Desirable Attributes
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Experience with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.
