The Opportunity:
We are seeking a driven and experienced
National Account Manager (NAM)
to join a leading food business in Dublin.
This role will play a key part in managing and growing
retail accounts
across the island of Ireland (ROI & NI), working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver joint business plans, drive category growth, and achieve commercial objectives.
The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to influence, negotiate, and deliver results in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute national account strategies in line with overall commercial objectives.
Build, manage, and enhance relationships with key retail partners at head office level.
Negotiate terms, promotional calendars, cost price increases, and space planning agreements.
Lead joint business planning (JBP) with retailers, identifying short- and long-term growth opportunities.
Drive sales performance, market share, and profitability through effective planning and execution.
Oversee new product listings, promotions, and category reviews.
Partner with marketing, category, and supply chain teams to deliver aligned initiatives.
Manage account budgets, including trade spend and promotional investment, ensuring strong ROI.
Provide accurate reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior management.
Support the wider commercial team with cross-functional projects and business improvements.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager role within FMCG/retail.
Proven ability to manage senior buyer relationships and deliver commercial objectives.
Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
Experience with budgeting, reporting, and category management.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Highly organised with excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
A motivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
