Due to ongoing growth, ATG are seeking a skilled and motivated Consultant Ecologist to join a dynamic team.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct ecological surveys (e.g. habitat, bat, bird, mammal, aquatic) in accordance with best practice and seasonal constraintsAssist in the preparation of ecological reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Appropriate Assessments (AA), and Biodiversity Chapters for EIARsSupport project delivery in compliance with Irish and EU environmental legislationUndertake desktop studies and data analysis using GIS and ecological databasesLiaise with clients, statutory agencies, and project stakeholdersProvide input into mitigation design and habitat management planningMaintain high technical standards and keep up to date with current ecological guidance and legislationQualifications & ExperienceDegree (or higher) in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related disciplineMinimum 2–3 years’ experience in ecological consultancy or similar roleStrong field survey skills (e.g. habitat mapping using Fossitt classification, protected species surveys)Knowledge of Irish wildlife legislation, Habitats Directive, and planning systemProficiency in report writing, data interpretation, and impact assessmentFull clean driving licence requiredBat licence or other NPWS licences an advantageKey Skills & AttributesStrong analytical and organisational skillsClear and concise communication (written and verbal)Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamFlexibility to travel and work outdoors, sometimes outside of normal hoursCommitment to high standards of quality and environmental responsibilityATG are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join an expanding Ecology team.
