Lead and manage day-to-day Toolroom operations, ensuring tooling maintenance, repair, validation support, and continuous improvement activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, GMP, and H&S requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Toolroom Operations
2. Plan, coordinate, and prioritize Toolroom activities (repairs, PMs, validations, projects).
3. Ensure accurate completion and traceability of all tooling documentation and records.
4. Maintain compliance with GMP, quality, and H&S standards; support audits and site visits.
5. Communicate tool status, risks, and required actions to stakeholders.
6. Participate in operational, engineering, planning, and problem-solving meetings.
7. Technical Leadership
8. Oversee dismantling, troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild of complex multi-impression tools.
9. Review and approve repair strategies, machining methods, and corrective actions.
10. Ensure evaluation and documentation of wear, damage, and metrology issues.
11. Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to Toolmakers.
12. Drive tooling reliability improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
13. Supervise safe setup and operation of Toolroom machinery and equipment.
14. Support training and development of Toolmakers and apprentices.
15. People Leadership
16. Lead, manage, and develop Toolroom personnel, including scheduling and attendance management.
17. Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and development planning.
18. Assign daily tasks, set priorities, and ensure accountability for quality and timelines.
19. Promote a culture of teamwork, ownership, safety, and communication.
Job Requirements
20. Qualified, time-served Toolmaker.
21. Minimum 3 years' experience in an injection moulding environment.
22. 3–5 years of people management experience (preferred).
23. Experience in a cGMP environment (desirable).
