Social Care Quality Assurance Specialist
As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across various services. Your primary responsibilities will include participating in audit design and implementation, carrying out audits, and setting/reviewing action plans for improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
* Participate in the design and implementation of audits in collaboration with the Compliance and Safeguarding Manager.
* Carrying out audits, setting and reviewing action plans for improvement.
* Monitor and report on the effective implementation of regulatory compliance.
* Leading and participating in quality improvement projects and reporting on the progress of development projects/initiatives in line with project plans.
* Contributing to the development of data and information capabilities to drive evidence-based decision making.
* Maintain up-to-date electronic data on compliance/quality improvement programmes, and provide reports from the analysis and monitoring of data which track trends, identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
* Supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of KPI's across services.
* Compile reports including statistics, charts and analysing of information to support the work of quality.
* Deliver training and coaching in the operation of systems, and processes.
* Mentoring and coaching of teams to understand and operate in line with processes quality improvement programmes and regulatory requirements.
* Co-ordinating the implementation of new systems, structures and processes arising from the development work of the organisation.
* Undertake stakeholder engagement, surveys, consultations, data collection as required.
* Work in conjunction with the line Manager to ensure that all relevant compliance policies and procedures are in place.
* Evaluate and implement policy reviews within timeframes and co-ordinate the policy review process.
* Update and amend service provision policies when organisational procedures or legislation requires.
* Develop and update policies in an accessible format.
* Ensure the most up-to-date policy and associated documents are accessible and used appropriately in practice.
* Raise all safeguarding or serious non-compliance and risk issues to the Head of Services immediately.
* Collaborate and coordinate with other support functions in the development, implementation and reporting on compliance issues and participation in committees, working groups, etc.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
* Hold a primary degree in i.e., Social Care, ID Nursing, Psychology, Behavioural Support Specialist, or another relevant field.
* Candidates should also have a specific qualification in Quality Management and have relevant experience in auditing and using quality systems.
* Significant relevant experience in the area of quality and safety & service development in a social care setting.
* 3 - 4 years proven experience in a compliance officer role.
* Detailed understanding of current policy and developments at national and sectoral level in relation to Social Care within disability services.
* Experience in management of regulated residential services for people with disabilities and ability to apply knowledge of best practice.
* Experience and ability to use and analyse data in to support of effective decision making and monitoring of progress against service delivery targets.
* Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures.
* Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability for the proper discharge of the duties of office).
* Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
* Strong research and analysis skills which will enable you to identify and obtain key information from a range of sources and apply it to the development of policy.
* Effective supervision and line management skills.
* Ability to be flexible and open to learning new skills.
