We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a highly respected specialist contractor delivering a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Limerick, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a technically driven, fast-growing organisation known for delivering complex, high-spec projects within the life sciences and advanced technology sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of the project, supporting cost control, subcontractor management, and financial reporting while working within a collaborative and well-structured project team.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day commercial activities for the pharmaceutical project.
• Measure works from drawings and specifications and prepare cost plans and valuations.
• Assist with procurement of subcontractor packages, including tender analysis and contract placement.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, variations, and final accounts.
• Track project costs, cash flow, and forecasting in line with project targets.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and commercial updates for senior management.
• Support the management of change control, ensuring all variations are captured and agreed.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal commercial procedures.
• Liaise closely with site teams, clients, and consultants to resolve commercial issues.
• Assist with project close-out and final account settlement.
Skills & Qualifications
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 4–7 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction or engineering.
• Previous experience on pharmaceutical, cleanroom, life sciences, or high-tech manufacturing projects highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of cost control, subcontract management, and commercial reporting.
• Good working knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated project environment.
