The Role
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site's Raw Material Warehouse, covering Goods Inwards and Stores and provides support to Finished Goods shipments as required. It is a team supervisory role, responsible for overseeing all material coordination, including Bulk Tank Farm Deliveries and Waste Drum Movements, while providing support to all departments onsite to meet the overall needs of the production schedule.
This position will ensure that stock management and material flow throughout the site is optimised to meet the changing needs of the business. This role works in a dynamic environment created by frequent new product introductions, so the ability to react and adapt to change is critical.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse in compliance with PPGs policies and vision, while working to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running effectively.
Ensure that receiving, warehousing and distribution operations take place on time and as required. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and preparing for dispatch of both raw materials and finished goods.
Ensure timely and accurate response to the material requirements of the production plant by ensuring the availability of required materials to the manufacturing unit and accurate stock management reports to the Production and Material Planning function.
Supervise team, raw material capacity and present scenario planning if capacity becomes constrained.
Oversee the flow of both raw materials and finished goods across the plant, including stock control and material reconciliation whilst utilizing SAP.
Manage KPIs specific to the warehouse function and where appropriate implement corrective and improvement actions to achieve the targets.
Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement processes across the warehouse function onsite including but not limited to, reducing inventory levels and enhancing material flow and presentation.
Ensure all waste is disposed of in accordance with licencing requirements, including proper segregation and storage.
Oversee the delivery of Engineering and Maintenance deliveries to Engineering Stores.
Facilitate warehouse equipment upkeep and maintenance, and warehouse consumable stocks in accordance with the production plan.
Additional Requirements
Advocate for environmental, health and safety compliance. Ensures production, operations are completed in accordance with environmental health and safety and quality compliance at all times, and in line with Company procedures, statutory, regulatory and operating licence requirements.
Lead and or participate in process, quality and safety, inspections, audits, deviation investigations, HAZOP's, change management, root cause analysis and development of solutions.
Any other duties or responsibilities relevant to the role of Warehouse Supervisor.
Education, Knowledge & Experience
Degree or other relevant qualification is preferred, ideally in a supply chain related discipline.
Minimum 5yr experience in a material management role, ideally in a chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements (environmental, health and safety, and quality and employment law).
High level computer proficiency for example, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with significant experience of SAP.
Full Drivers licence required
