Job Title: Psychologist (Clinical / Counselling / Educational)
Grade: Equivalent to Staff Grade & Senior Grade Psychologist
Contract Type: Full-time, rolling 3-month contract, subject to service and business needs
Location: On-site, Ireland, North Dublin.
Reporting Relationship: The post holder will report to the designated Principal / Senior Psychologist or relevant line manager, in line with service structure.
Purpose of Role
To provide a comprehensive range of psychological services, including assessment, formulation, and intervention, to clients presenting with a range of psychological and mental health difficulties. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care in line with standards and best practice.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Professional / Clinical
Conduct psychological assessments, including cognitive, behavioural, and emotional assessments, as appropriate.
Develop and implement individualised, evidence‑based intervention plans.
Provide therapeutic interventions (CBT, CFT, DBT, MBT, systemic approaches) based on client need.
Undertake risk assessments and implement risk management plans where required.
Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date clinical records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
Provide psychological reports to inform clinical decision‑making and care planning.
Multidisciplinary Team Working
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and service planning activities.
Liaise with external agencies, including primary care, community services, and educational settings where appropriate.
Service Delivery & Development
Manage and prioritise an assigned caseload effectively in line with service demands.
Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Support the delivery of group interventions and psychoeducational programmes where appropriate.
Professional Standards & Governance
Adhere to the ethical guidelines and professional standards set out by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection.
Engage in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice.
Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance professional competence.
Contribute to training and education initiatives within the service where appropriate.

Eligibility Criteria (Essential)
Doctoral qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology recognised in Ireland.
Qualifications validated/recognised by the Department of Health (Ireland) if studied abroad.
Eligible for or hold full membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) in the relevant division.
Currently residing in Ireland with a valid right to work as vetting will be required.
Demonstrated experience in psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention.
Experience working with a range of client groups across the lifespan.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
