Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Recovery Specialist to join our clinical team. As an integral member of the team, you will serve as the primary counselor to a caseload of substance use disorder patients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor, tailored to patients' physical, medical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.
- Utilize a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to support patients' recovery, working collaboratively with patients and treatment team members.
- Provide clinical consultation to referral sources, mentors, family members, and others to support patient recovery.
- Engage with patients to involve them in decision-making and help them understand assessment benefits and appropriate care levels.
- Review referral information and coordinate with referral sources to support service delivery and schedule patient interviews.
- Make referrals based on assessments to ensure patients access appropriate programs and services.
- Assist patients with scheduling admissions or initial appointments at referred programs or facilities.
- Monitor patient engagement with treatment and address barriers to recovery.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
- Master's Degree in Human Services or a related field
- At least one (1) year of experience working with clients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD)
- Knowledge and/or training in Trauma-Informed Care and organizational treatment approaches
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders
- Understanding of laws regarding personnel and client confidentiality.
