We're seeking an experienced and proactive Catering Manager to support the delivery of high-quality food services across a modern healthcare environment.This is a great opportunity to join a respected Dublin institution where food quality, service excellence, and patient care truly come first.
This role will oversee day-to-day operations across inpatient meals, main kitchen, restaurant, hospitality and coffee dock services — ensuring exceptional service for patients, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and inspire a large, multi-disciplinary catering team across patient, staff, and hospitality services.
Oversee daily operations to ensure timely, high-quality meal delivery aligned with nutritional and therapeutic requirements.
Maintain and enforce full food-safety compliance, including HACCP and best-practice hygiene standards.
Support HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, performance development, and rostering.
Drive continuous improvement across menus, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Control departmental budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify cost-efficiency opportunities.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory, safety, and hospital policies at all times.
Track KPIs and lead quality-assurance initiatives, audits, and ongoing service reviews.
Build strong relationships with clinical, facilities, and support teams to optimise service.
Oversee procurement, supplier relationships, and stock control to maintain seamless operations.
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience within catering, hospitality, or contract food services.
Experience within healthcare / hospital environment an advantage.
Strong working knowledge of HACCP and food-safety management systems.
Proven ability to manage a wide range of dietary needs.
Innovative mindset, able to bring new ideas and initiatives to all aspects of the role, including auditing, training and leading.
Excellent communication skills with a customer-centred mindset.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational ability.
Financial awareness and experience managing budgets or cost controls.
Ability to motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams.
Resilience, adaptability, and the confidence to manage a large team in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fixed-term contract role.
