Opto-mechanical Engineer Job Description
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Principal Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and improve engineering practices across the opto-mechanical design domain. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in production of engineering designs for continuous improvement, mentorship skills, and experience working with various tools such as CAD software.
About This Role
This position involves technically leading and improving engineering practices within our organization's opto-mechanical design domain. As part of this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering designs that meet space-grade standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the principal technical authority on all mechanical aspects of optical system integration
* Drive the application of CAD design, close-form calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and prototyping skills in order to realise various types of opto-mechanical systems
* Foster collaboration among engineers to deliver robust and efficient products
The ideal candidate should possess 8 years' experience in mechanical or related fields along with excellent leadership qualities. They must also have effective communication skills both written and verbal.
The successful applicant will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field such as Optical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
