Summary
The role of the Engineer I is to provide expertise and technical support in Hollister-specific manufacturing technologies. The engineer will be based in Ballina and will serve Manufacturing Operations as the primary customer. The position will liaise with Global Engineering (GE), New Product Development (NPD), Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA), and Supply Chain (SCM) to effectively carry out its responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Providing support to Engineering Services, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Departments.
- Mechanical Design: Planning and specifying mechanical machine elements and machines for product manufacture, including upgrading or modifying existing or new processes.
- Equipment modification: Designing and implementing cost-effective methods to improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
- Corporate & Vendor Liaison: Working with external suppliers in the design and development of new production equipment and processes.
- Production Services: Providing direction and support to production on various issues.
- Problem Solving: Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers as part of day-to-day support of the value stream.
Qualifications:
- Academic Credentials: Primary Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Specialized skills/technical knowledge:
- Understanding of PLC systems.
- Advanced knowledge of pneumatics.
- Project Management training.
- Use of Lean Manufacturing principles (SMED and DMAIC techniques).
- Occupational Health & Safety.
