The purpose of the job is to act as part of the management team. The Housing Manager will lead and manage a staff team in providing Housing Management and Maintenance services within your area of responsibility.
What You Will Do
1. Manage staff performance, uphold HR best practices, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
2. Achieve strategic goals through team leadership and value addition.
3. Ensure staff efficiency via training, supervision, and motivation.
4. Plan staff schedules and coordinate maintenance tasks.
5. Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
6. Support staff and foster a harmonious team environment.
7. Handle administrative processes related to staff and property management.
8. Contribute to management meetings and organizational strategic planning.
9. Develop and manage budgets, forecast requirements, and analyze variances.
10. Maintain accurate transaction records and oversee vendor relations.
11. Ensure all administrative and property management paperwork is timely and accurate.
12. Lead emergency response efforts for all properties.
13. Implement and review policies for housing management and maintenance.
14. Investigate and respond to tenant complaints and manage tenancy obligations.
15. Manage rent collection, arrears, and property maintenance.
16. Regularly inspect properties and coordinate repairs.
17. Coordinate health and safety compliance across all sites.
18. Participate in safety training and policy development.
19. Work within the organization’s objectives, promote its values, and adhere to policies.
20. Participate in relevant training and team activities.
21. Identify and report health and safety risks.
What You Will Need
1. Third-level qualification in Housing Management, Property, or related field.
2. Experience and understanding of social housing and Focus Ireland's role.
3. Leadership skills, initiative, and management experience (2-4 years).
4. Experience working with tenants who have experienced homelessness.
5. Strong project, budget management, and communication skills.
6. Attention to detail, solution-focused attitude, and proficiency in MS Office.
7. Trustworthiness and integrity.
8. Full clean driving license and access to a vehicle.
