Our client,
Ireland's national energy authority, is seeking a Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPs) and Building Digital Logbook Developer to join their Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) development team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of Ireland's energy efficiency efforts. In this role, you will help ensure that the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD) programme delivers innovative solutions to enhance building energy performance and sustainability across Ireland.
You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for the development and implementation of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPs) and the Building Digital Logbook. This role is key to shaping Ireland's energy performance standards and helping to meet national and international sustainability targets, particularly in the context of Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) and Zero Emission Buildings (ZEB).
This role is initially offered on an 18-month contract basis with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:
7. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry associations and service providers, to ensure successful programme delivery.
8. Coordinate and work on the development of building energy performance methodologies, ensuring that MEPs and Building Digital Logbooks are aligned with industry best practices and EPBD requirements.
9. Collaborate with the Software and Systems Development Team to integrate these methodologies into SEAI's operational platforms, including DEAP and NEAP, to enhance the BER Programme.
10. Play a key role in the enhancement and implementation of changes to the BER programme's IT and business systems, including those related to the Building Digital Logbooks and Buildings' databases.
11. Develop and implement data sharing and access policies in collaboration with the EPBD Data Exchange Lead to ensure effective data exchange between stakeholders.
12. Resolve IT and business system-related issues proactively to ensure that SEAI's systems function smoothly and meet the evolving needs of the programme.
13. Support the evolving IT requirements under the EPBD programme, contributing to the development of systems such as digital logbooks and building databases.
Knowledge & Skills:
14. Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage projects effectively, including scope, timeline, risk, cost, and quality management.
15. Energy Performance Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant energy performance directives and standards, including the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and Irish Building Regulations.
16. Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think strategically and use sound judgment to address complex technical challenges.
17. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent SEAI in public forums and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
18. IT Proficiency: Well-developed IT skills with experience in software development, quality control, and user acceptance testing.
19. Collaboration: Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team, building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
20. Degree (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in a relevant technical or operational discipline such as Architecture, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Building Services, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or other fields related to building energy modeling and methodologies.
21. A minimum of four years' relevant experience in building performance assessment or modeling, sustainability/energy consultancy, or project management in a related field.
22. Experience with energy performance methodologies, including a working knowledge of DEAP (Domestic Energy Assessment Procedure) and NEAP (Non-Domestic Energy Assessment Procedure).
23. Experience in software development and quality control, including stakeholder management and user acceptance testing.
24. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and managing projects with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements:
25. BER Assessor Certification.
26. A strong understanding of building energy systems and the related energy performance standards.
27. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
