Senior Physiotherapist Primary Care The Senior Physiotherapist Primary Care will provide high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy services to adults and older persons within a primary care setting.
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary Primary Care Team, delivering assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services, with a strong emphasis on self-management, health promotion, and early intervention.
This position is based in East Clare community.
Responsibilities of Senior Physiotherapist Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate physiotherapy interventions for patients referred to Primary Care services.
Manage a complex caseload, including patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and age-related conditions, as appropriate to Primary Care.
Deliver evidence-based, outcome-focused physiotherapy interventions in line with best practice and HSE policies.
Promote self-management, physical activity, and preventative care through patient education and group programmes where appropriate.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with HSE standards.
Provide clinical supervision, support, and mentoring to staff-grade physiotherapists, assistants, and students.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of clinical guidelines, pathways, and protocols within Primary Care.
Act as a professional role model, promoting high standards of clinical practice and ethical conduct.
Participate in service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support the integration of physiotherapy services within the wider Primary Care and Community Healthcare Network.
Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and integrated care planning.
Participate in patient, carer, and community education initiatives.
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and ensure maintenance of CORU registration requirements.
Requirements of Senior Physiotherapist Be registered as a Physiotherapist with CORU.
Have at least three years post-qualification clinical experience, including relevant experience in a Primary Care or community setting.
Demonstrate experience in managing a complex clinical caseload.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
