Job Title
Administrator – Hospital Administration Operations. Job type: Permanent (Specified Purpose contracts available). Hours: 37 per week (full‑time; shifts may include weekends and bank holidays).
Job Overview
Blackrock Clinic is the leading and longest established private hospital and clinic in Ireland, known for high‑tech surgical procedures, medical treatments and diagnostics, and is part of the Blackrock Health private hospital group.
Role Purpose
Provide clerical and administrative support to the department, ensuring all patients, staff and visitors are handled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Provide an administrative service for the department.
Support and cross‑cover in the local administration department.
Greet and communicate appropriately with visitors, patients, consultants and staff.
Process paperwork and explain the admission process to patients on arrival.
Secure payment from underinsured/self‑insured patients.
Coordinate with other departments and consultants to arrange medical appointments.
Escort patients to other areas of the hospital as required.
Liaise with insurance companies to confirm coverage and complete insurance claim forms.
Post charges to patients' accounts for discharge.
Assist patients and visitors, liaising with hospital and clinic staff.
Perform additional administrative duties as required by the clinical team.
Balance cash sheets, check float, and ensure safe lodgement of all payments.
Scan patient records, manage telephone queries and organise stationery for the department.
Use IT systems, manage cash handling and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

Requirements
Proficiency in IT skills, typing and cash handling.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain calm and prevent conflict or undue anxiety.
Capable of reporting incidents immediately that may adversely affect patients or colleagues.
