Mortgage Advisor.

Location: Wexford, Ireland.

Reports To: Branch Manager.

Job Purpose:

The Mortgage Advisor is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to clients seeking mortgage solutions. This role involves assessing customer needs, recommending appropriate mortgage products, and guiding clients through the application process. The Mortgage Advisor plays a crucial role in driving mortgage sales and enhancing customer satisfaction by delivering first class tailored financial solutions that meet individual client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Consultation:

* Meet with clients to understand their mortgage needs and financial circumstances, providing tailored advice based on individual situations.
* Conduct thorough assessments of client financial profiles, including income, credit history, and existing debts, to determine suitable mortgage options.
* Educate clients on the various mortgage products available, including fixed-rate, variable-rate, and government schemes.

Mortgage Application Process:

* Assist clients in completing mortgage applications and gathering necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Liaise with lenders, solicitors, and surveyors throughout the mortgage process to ensure timely and efficient transactions.
* Keep clients informed at every stage of the application process, providing updates and answering any questions they may have.

Sales and Business Development:

* Actively promote the financial institution's mortgage products and services, meeting or exceeding sales targets set by the branch.
* Identify opportunities for cross-selling other financial products, such as insurance or investment options, to enhance overall customer service.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
* Identify opportunities and participating in promotional events to proactively generate mortgage business from external channels,.

Compliance and Risk Management:

* Ensure all mortgage applications are processed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection regulations.
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current mortgage legislation and market trends to provide accurate and up-to-date advice.
* Conduct regular training and professional development to stay current with industry changes and product offerings.

Customer Relationship Management:

* Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Follow up with clients post-completion to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify any future needs.
* Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, working towards satisfactory resolutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Educational Requirements:
* A qualification in finance, business, or a related field is preferred
* The APA Loans designation is the minimum industry qualification required for this role, completed additional QFA exams are an advantage.
* Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a mortgage advisory or financial services role is preferred, with a strong understanding of mortgage products, the application process and the local business market in Wexford.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in mortgage software and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems is advantageous.

* Flexibility:
* Willingness to work outside standard hours, including evenings or weekends, if required.
* As a small team, you may also be required to assist other parts of the business occasionally, in areas such as Customer Service or Customer banking transactions.
* Professional Appearance: Adherence to the institution's dress code and professional image standards.
