You will collaborate closely with the project team, including engineers, BIM, estimation, procurement, sub-contractors, and clients, to ensure accurate and efficient cost control, estimation, and reporting. This is in a region where further growth is expected and is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious QS to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior commercial team members.Your responsibilities will include:Mechanical Cost ManagementCollaborate closely with the estimation team to review and validate Mechanical cost estimates for each project.Manage cost control and identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management.Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities.Monitor and track project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments both upstream and downstream.Quantity SurveyingCollaborate with the estimation / BIM team to ensure accurate quantity take-offs and bills of quantities for Mechanical systems and installations in each project.Review mechanical drawings and specification revisions to ensure any changes are identified.Conduct site visits and inspections to assess work progress, validate quantities, and address any discrepancies.Evaluate subcontractor's claims and prepare reports on quantities, rates, and payment applications.Contract AdministrationAdminister the contract for each project in collaboration with the project team, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.Review and analyse contractual agreements, identifying key contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables.Manage the contractual correspondence, including change orders, claims, and dispute resolution, in coordination with the project team.Collaborate with the legal / compliance team to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.Labor and Performance MonitoringMaintain and implement systems for tracking labour resources and performance on Mechanical works for each project.Monitor labour productivity, efficiency, and performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to gather labour-related data and analyse productivity trends.Prepare reports on labour S/E, productivity, and performance indicators for each project individually.Cost Reporting and DocumentationGenerate regular cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections for Mechanical works.Maintain accurate records of all Mechanical cost-related documents, contracts, and correspondence.Prepare and present cost reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.Assist in the preparation of final accounts and settlement of claims.Skills And RequirementsRelevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics or related field.3+ years experience in a similar role.Experience as a Mechanical QS on large-scale construction projects.Experience in Mechanical cost control, estimation, and quantity surveying techniques.Proficiency in using relevant QS software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Countfire, Excel).Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Good organizational and time management abilities.Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards related to Mechanical l works.BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
