The Company

Cubic is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to join the Test System Team within the DevOps and Quality Assurance group. This team provides test automation solutions to support Cubic engineering teams by building and maintaining test automation frameworks and tooling. The successful candidate will bring an open, collaborative and innovative approach to their work.

This role requires an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to contribute to test automation strategies through automation frameworks, tooling, and best practices.


Key Responsibilities

* Driving best-in-class test automation principles within the engineering group, acting as a Senior Subject Matter Expert
* Collaborating with Engineering Managers and architecture to align and implement best practices
* Expanding and maintaining test automation frameworks for Cubic Telecom
* Creating and maintaining automated test suites including mocking frameworks and integrating with in-house testing platforms
* Investigating automation test failures and troubleshooting outcomes
* Coordinating implementation of tools/environments for test automation engineers within the Architecture Team's Technology Radar
* Integrating with and expanding Engineering Quality Dashboards to provide standardized test automation visibility and insights
* Helping develop and implement training to upskill other engineers in Automation
* Mentoring and supporting other Test Automation Engineers
* Implementing AI in automation strategies


Requirements


Essential Skills

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, computer/electronic engineering, or related science discipline
* Minimum 7 years' experience in a test automation role
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time/workload effectively
* Clear communication of thoughts, ideas and design specifications with leads and cross-functional teams
* Comfortable presenting to small groups including contributors and leadership
* API/Microservice test automation experience
* Web application test automation experience
* Experience with test automation tools such as RestSharp, RestAssured, SoapUI, Selenium WebDriver, LoadRunner, JMeter
* Experience with programming/scripting languages including .NET/C#/C++/Python
* Experience in a continuous testing environment and with Continuous Integration tools
* Experience with functional and non-functional test automation
* Strong understanding of all phases of testing and standard test automation techniques
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail


Desirable Skills

* Ability to mentor colleagues with less experience
* Experience using AI with Test Automation
* Experience using Test Management software (e.g., TestRail)
* Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
* Telecoms/IP Networking experience
* Experience testing IoT/M2M applications or systems
* Experience with API and web application mocking tools
* Experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS)
* Experience configuring TLS/SSL on server infrastructure
* Experience in lean engineering with Kanban
* Mobile device testing experience
* Experience working in an Agile development environment
* ISTQB Certification
* Angular framework testing
* Performance engineering experience
* Experience with UI Automation frameworks
* Strong industry experience with leading companies
