MTU is seeking a person with suitable experience to fill the role of IT Technical Officer (CCAD) in IT Services Department to cover maternity leave of an existing team member.
This post will be based primarily in the Crawford College of Art and Design (CCAD) Campus but with some (infrequent) requirement to travel to other MTU Cork campuses.
The successful candidate will be reporting to MTU Head of IT Operations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Main duties and responsibilities of the role are as follows: Provide Level 1 and 2 IT support to staff and students across multiple locations.
Work as part of a team environment to support class delivery Ensure all computer laboratories are setup as required for classes and maintained throughout the term.
Assist other IT team members in the development and implementation of projects that will enhance the services provided for all users.
Assist students & staff in the setup of equipment for assessments, installations and exhibitions.
Assist students & staff with printing for assessments, installations and exhibitions.
Participate in the delivery of Local IT Clinics for Staff & Students.
Participate in the evaluation of new equipment/software Work with other members of the IT Team as part of an overarching service delivery model.
Provide local IT Support for Online Portfolio Submissions, Student Exhibitions and interactive Installations.
Assisting with IT budgetary planning as required.
Liaising with external providers/vendors in relation to hardware, software and service procurement.
Essential Qualifications/Experience: An appropriate Level 8 Primary Honours Degree from a degree awarding authority in a relevant discipline.
And Not less than 3 years relevant experience subsequent to obtaining the above qualification.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in supporting Apple Hardware and OS.
Experience in Deployment of software to Mac computer labs and staff machines as required.
Experience in use of JAMF Apple Management System.
Experience in supporting of Apple Mobile Devices.
Experience in support of Audio-Visual Equipment in Lecture Theatres, Labs, Studios, Classrooms and Installations.
Experience in basic network configuration and patching.
Experience in supporting front facing IT Services.
Managing the provision of IT Support to Staff and Student for class delivery.
Terms of the Appointment: Salary Scale IT Technical Officer: €45,691 - €76,245 pa (pro rata) Fixed-Term, Whole-Time up to 11 August 2026, in the first instance Hours of work 36.5 hours per week Annual leave: 29 days per annum (pro rata Important Notes: Screening and short-listing only takes place on the basis of information submitted on the application.
