This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description
Participants will receive excellent training and be supported by a mentor. This busy environment generates good work ethics and helps strengthen the participants' personal and interpersonal skills, build confidence and self‑esteem. A training programme will be devised to enhance their existing skills and knowledge relevant to the industry and identify areas of growth and development.
Training and Development Areas
* You will receive comprehensive formal training in laundry and dry‑cleaning services.
* You will learn the art of fabric care, stain removal and garment finishing from industry experts, while gaining hands‑on experience with the latest equipment.
* You will have an opportunity to elevate your skills in the dry‑cleaning industry.
Role Description
This is a training and work experience opportunity. No prior experience is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support the placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work experience Module, which was developed by the Education and Training boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. The optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
