Meet the team
RTÉ Finance comprises a centralised Group Finance function responsible for financial control and certain central Shared Services including Payroll, Fees, Accounts Receivable, Treasury Management, Accounts Payable, Pensions and Procurement, Tax, Management Information, Finance Transformation and Projects. There are divisional finance teams across key business units which report functionally on all financial, accounting and reporting matters to the Chief Financial Officer, and on operational matters to the Head of Division.
About the role
We are looking for an AP/AR Assistant Accountant to join the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team that sits within the Group Finance Function. The team is integral to the management of suppliers, creditor payments and debtor management. The AP/AR team is a central focus for expansion, development and new automation so the successful candidate will be joining at a pivotal time. The role reports to the AP/AR Manager.
Key responsibilities
Processing high volumes of Accounts Payable invoices, in a multi-currency environment across different legal entities, on a timely basis
Ensuring payment terms are adhered to and compliant with supplier policies
Responding to all supplier and internal queries on a timely basis
Reconciling supplier statements
Providing support to other team members
Debtor and creditor reconciliations
Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
Supporting payments project teams in process improvements and system automation
About you
Experience in an Accounts department or a finance administration role
Knowledge of VAT, RCT and PSWT
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good organisational and follow through skills
Ability to work on own initiative and collaborate as part of a team
Strong IT skills and knowledge of systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines

This appointment will be made at the Administrative Grade 3 and is being offered on a two‑year fixed term full‑time contract basis. The salary scale for this grade is from €33,392 to €45,017 gross per annum.
