About the Role We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management, compliance with regulations, and effective control over financial operations. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP). Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Taxation & Statutory Compliance Ensure compliance with all local tax regulations (income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, etc.). Prepare and file statutory returns and support audits by external authorities. Liaise with tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate and timely submissions. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) Oversee and process supplier invoices, payment runs, and expense claims. Manage customer invoicing, collections, and credit control. Reconcile supplier and customer accounts regularly. Payroll Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with statutory deductions and reporting requirements. Maintain employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries. Internal Controls & Process Improvement Maintain strong financial controls and documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy. Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting and reporting functions. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CA) preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a (specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, services, construction). Strong knowledge of taxation, statutory compliance, AP, AR, and payroll processes. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, QuickBooks) and MS Excel. Sound understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
