We are seeking a compassionate Social Care Professional to join our team in Galway. Our client is a respected organization dedicated to supporting children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The successful candidate will provide person-centred care within a collaborative team, adhering to our clients policies and safety guidelines. They will support individuals with diverse needs, including those with challenging behaviours, and play a key role in promoting their independence, self-worth, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver residential and respite care, supporting daily living, personal care, and household tasks.
* Act as a key contact for assigned individuals, liaising with families and multidisciplinary teams.
* Develop and implement tailored programs to teach self-help, domestic, and social skills.
* Support individuals with challenging behaviours through evidence-based approaches.
* Administer and document prescribed medications accurately.
* Guide Care Assistants and ensure a cohesive team approach.
* Step into a leadership role as Person in Charge when required.
* Maintain detailed records and reports to support service delivery.
* Engage with families and visitors, ensuring respectful and considerate interactions.
* Facilitate community-based activities to enhance clients leisure and social experiences.
* Drive client vehicles or your own for work-related tasks.
* Work a flexible rota, including weekends, sleep-ins, or night shifts as needed.
* Uphold safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements, including HIQA guidelines.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualifications: Level 7 degree in Social Studies or a related field.
* Registration: CORU registered or in the process of registration.
* Experience: Background in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or similar settings.
* Licensing: Full drivers license with access to a vehicle.
* Skills:
o Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
o Motivated, empathetic, and committed to advocacy.
