Tirlán is a world-class food and nutrition co-operative with a diverse portfolio of quality ingredients and leading consumer and agri brands. This is a Permanent Casual Horticulturist role based in Ashford, Co Wicklow, working full time for the Garden Season and part time thereafter.
Role Profile
This is an exciting opportunity for a Horticulturist to join our busy CountryLife branch in Ashford, Co Wicklow. You will be a valued member of the team, essential to the success of our branch by providing customers with a first-class experience, working alongside the Horticulturists and Branch Manager in the running of our garden centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Garden Centre: Maximise the sales potential of the garden centre and garden products; maintain control of stock to ensure a fresh offering; ensure displays are immaculate and appealing; assist the Manager to maintain high standards in the garden centre and branch.
* Top Class Customer Service: Provide top quality, fast, efficient and friendly service; build trusting relationships with customers; offer excellent service and advice; demonstrate keen interest in and understanding of our product range and services.
* Other: Develop relevant areas across the branch; ensure health and safety requirements are met; maintain good housekeeping of relevant areas.
Key Requirements
* A qualification in horticulture is desirable but not essential, depending on relevant experience.
* Minimum 1-2 years relevant retail Garden Centre experience.
* Knowledge and interest in the retail gardening industry.
* Ability to multitask and deliver high-standard work in a busy environment.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
* Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills and ambition to exceed customer expectations.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent teamwork and the ability to work on own initiative.
