TechOps Lead
Role Purpose
The TechOps Lead will play a pivotal role in delivering IT strategy aligned with Group objectives and business plans. This position ensures operational excellence, stakeholder alignment, and the successful delivery of technology initiatives that drive business performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment
1. Support delivery of IT strategy in alignment with Group objectives and MedTech business priorities.
2. Act as the primary liaison between TechOps and MedTech leadership, ensuring clear communication of priorities, dependencies, and timelines.
3. Identify, plan, and prioritise technology initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Translate technical concepts into business language to enable informed decision-making.
5. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
6. Contribute to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across projects.
People Leadership & Team Development
7. Lead, motivate, and develop the TechOps team to deliver strong performance and engagement.
8. Mentor and coach team members, supporting career development and succession planning.
9. Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
10. Drive talent retention through recognition and growth opportunities.
Service Delivery & Operational Excellence
11. Oversee end-user support services, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery.
12. Establish and track KPIs for operational effectiveness.
13. Communicate project and service delivery status to business leaders, highlighting achievements, risks, and dependencies.
14. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency.
15. Ensure adherence to SLAs and proactively address service gaps.
Project & Vendor Management
16. Direct successful delivery of IT projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and scope.
17. Manage vendor relationships and outsourced partners to optimise technology operations.
18. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure accountability for service standards.
19. Oversee infrastructure and systems implementation to support business needs.
20. Conduct regular reviews of systems and processes to identify optimisation opportunities.
Governance, Security & Risk Management
21. Ensure robust IT security controls and compliance with governance policies.
22. Manage technology budgets and resources, driving cost efficiency.
23. Implement and oversee incident management processes, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
24. Ensure compliance with information security and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Essential Experience & Qualifications
25. Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within healthcare or logistics.
26. Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
27. Proven track record in delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
28. Strong understanding of business processes and their alignment with technology solutions.
29. Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams (advantageous).
Technical & Professional Skills
30. Proficient in Microsoft technologies (Office, Dynamics, Power BI).
31. Solid knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity principles.
32. Familiarity with GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
33. Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends.
