Job Summary:
The role involves delivering automation projects of varying complexity.
* Proficient in PLC packages, preferably Beckhoff.
* Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and execute control systems for industrial equipment from concept to debugging.
2. Install and validate new or upgraded equipment into operation.
3. Collaborate with the digitalisation team on Merit's factory of the future project.
4. Ensure compliance with SOPs and technical documentation.
5. Develop upgrades to improve functionality, output, and safety.
6. Manage relationships with technology providers and integrators.
7. Design test equipment and create validated test procedures.
8. Lead design activities with internal and external contributors.
9. Support the Automation Manager in defining work packages and planning automation activities.
10. Investigate complex automation challenges and identify key technology drivers.
11. Identify improvement opportunities and provide business case analysis.
12. Analysis of data from proof of concepts leading to approved solutions.
13. Development of detailed URS documents, engineering documents, and protocols.
14. Detailed design reviews with external vendors on custom automation solutions.
15. Provide support for machine networks and ensure site backups and recovery procedures.
16. Maintain automation systems in production.
17. Integrate equipment according to Merit Medical best practice.
