Our work combines deep industrial robotics experience with modern software-driven automation to solve complex manufacturing challenges on real factory floors.We are looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of advanced robotic cells, with a strong focus on software-driven automation, vision integration, and scalable robot control architectures.This is a hands-on senior engineering role working across robotics software, industrial robot programming, and system commissioning.What you will work onDesigning, programming, and commissioning industrial robotic fabrication cellsDeveloping software-driven workflows to reduce manual robot teaching, including scan- plan-execute approachesIntegrating 3D vision systems to identify surfaces, features, and process regionsGenerating and optimizing robot paths with awareness of collisions, reachability, and process constraintsUsing and extending planning frameworks (e.g. ROS / ROS2, MoveIt-style concepts) where appropriateIntegrating software-based planning and logic with OEM robot controllers (ABB initially)Offline programming and simulation to validate cell layouts, reachability, and cycle timesDeveloping and optimising robotic processes for welding, grinding, surface finishing, and paintingSupporting FAT/SAT, on-site installation, and customer acceptanceTroubleshooting and improving systems based on production feedbackContributing to the evolution of Fabtech's robotics software and system architectureWhat we are looking forStrong hands-on experience in several of the following areas:Industrial robotics (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, UR, or similar)Robot cell design, integration, and commissioningOEM tools such as RobotStudio, RoboGuide, WorkVisual, or equivalentProgramming in C++ and/or PythonPractical experience using ROS or ROS2 in robotic systemsMotion planning, toolpath generation, or collision avoidanceVision systems, point clouds, or geometry-based processingWorking directly on factory floors and customer sitesYou do not need experience in every area, but you should be comfortable owning systems end-to-end and working close to real hardware.What matters mostYou have delivered real robotic systems into production environmentsYou are comfortable debugging machines under time pressureYou understand the trade-offs between clean software design and industrial constraintsYou take ownership and follow systems through commissioning and acceptanceYou are interested in growing technical responsibility and influence over timeWhat this role is notNot a research or academic positionNot a graduate or junior roleNot a remote-only software jobCompensation & progressionCompetitive salary based on experienceClear technical progression as responsibility growsOpportunity to take ownership of key robotics systems and influence technical directionInterested?If you enjoy building real industrial robotic systems, working at the intersection of software and hardware, and taking responsibility from design through commissioning, we would like to hear from you.
