Horticulture Buyer Excel Recruitment is currently seeking a Horticulture Buyer to join an established Irish retail business.
This role will support the Buying team in driving sales, profitability, and product availability across the Practical Gardening category.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for horticulture and strong commercial awareness who enjoys working closely with suppliers, growers, and store teams to deliver successful seasonal ranges in a fast-paced retail environment.

Coordinating promotional activity across the category including seasonal campaigns and key trading periods.
Monitoring stock levels across stores to ensure strong availability of both core and seasonal product ranges.
Working closely with suppliers and growers across Ireland and Europe to maximise product availability and commercial opportunities.
Assisting with seasonal planning for seeds, bulbs, plants, and related gardening ranges.
Tracking sales, margin, and stock performance across product sub-groups to support buying decisions.
Benchmarking competitor pricing and promotional activity within the market.
Managing purchase orders, supplier documentation, and internal product data to ensure accuracy.
Requirements for this Horticulture Buyer job include: Strong knowledge of horticulture, gardening products, or seasonal plant ranges.
Previous experience in retail, buying support, merchandising, or a commercial coordination role.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail systems.
