The Role
As aSales Development Representative,for the DBSS division, you will play a key role in driving pipeline growth by identifying, researching, and qualifying new business opportunities within target verticals. Your primary focus will be on generating high-quality leads through outbound engagement, strategic outreach, and collaboration with the sales and marketing teams. This role is crucial in supporting our go-to-market strategy and enabling the sales team to convert opportunities effectively.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and motivated to increase sales. They have strong communication skills and a curious mindset, with the ability to quickly understand and articulate the value of our digital solutions, including cloud, infrastructure, managed services, and modern workplace technologies. A background in sales or marketing is strongly desirable.
Responsibilities include:
* Willing to familiarize yourself with the company's vision and mission, seeking to accomplish set goals and objectives.
* Conducting market research and identifying potential clients.
* Research and identify new prospects within DBSS’s core industries and solution areas.
* Initiate outbound calls, emails, and social engagement to qualify leads and set meetings for the sales team.
* Collaborate with marketing to execute lead generation campaigns and follow-up strategies.
* Engage with prospects to understand their needs and pain points, and effectively position DBSS workshops & solutions.
* Work closely with the Business Development Managers to hand off qualified opportunities.
* Assist in developing outreach messaging, email templates, and call scripts aligned to target segments.
* Support lead nurturing through follow-ups and targeted communication workflows.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead records and activity tracking in the CRM system.
* Monitor industry trends and activity to identify new areas of opportunity.
* Assist with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
* 1–2 years of experience in a lead generation, inside sales, or business development (preferably in IT or B2B environments).
* A track record of delivering results, exceeding performance targets and contributing to business growth
* Demonstrate a strong bias for action, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and timely follow-through.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
* Comfortable making cold calls and sending outbound messages to new contacts.
Preferred Skills and Professional Experience
* Background or understanding of digital business solutions such as cloud services, IT infrastructure, and managed services is a plus.
* Basic knowledge and use of GenAI tools like Copilot or Genesis
* Strong organization and project management skills.
* Friendly and personable demeanour
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
* Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and lead tracking processes.
