Excel Recruitment is recruiting a motivated Assistant Deli Manager on behalf of our client, a busy and well-established grocery retailer in Athy. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional to support the Deli Manager in running the deli and fresh food departments, with opportunities for career progression.
About the Role:
As Assistant Deli Manager, you will assist in the daily operations of the deli and fresh food sections, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service. You will work closely with the Deli Manager to lead, train, and motivate the team while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Deli Manager in managing deli and fresh food operations.
2. Assist in leading and training staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
3. Help maintain stock levels, control waste, and monitor department performance.
4. Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.
5. Assist in menu planning, preparation, and presentation.
6. Work closely with store management to achieve business objectives.
Candidate Requirements:
7. Previous experience in a deli or fresh food management role preferred.
8. Strong knowledge of fresh food operations and HACCP compliance.
9. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
11. Motivated and commercially minded with a passion for fresh food.
