We are delighted to announce the position of Head of Lending within Limerick and District Credit Union. The Head of Lending reports to the CEO and is responsible for the progressive implementation of Limerick and Districts Credit Policy and Procedures to maximise responsible lending. This position leads the development and implementation of our growth strategy and the delivery of income targets, in line with the strategic plan, monitoring KPIs and ensuring alignment to the credit union ethos, compliance and operational goals, all the while building a strong member-centric team, as well as ensuring organisational readiness to implement new product offerings. The Head of Lending is accountable for reporting on opportunities for the credit union to diversify its lending base by evolving the credit risk appetite of the organisation. This role leads their lending team to ensure the highest standards of member satisfaction, while growing the credit unions market share, and working with the CEO to achieve the credit unions strategic goals. The Head of Lending manages the team within the lending area inclusive of their performance, development and reviews to ensure they deliver the quality of service and support required within their roles. The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in line with the MCC and significant lending experience in personal loans, lending to self-employed individuals, coupled with dealing with small to medium sized enterprise lending along with mortgage lending. The preferred applicant will be accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met, in line with regulatory requirements. Knowledge & Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in an underwriting role, operating at a senior management level, preferably in banking or other financial services organisation. Strong business acumen with ability to interpret business financial statements and key drivers of results. Proven track record of achieving business growth and managing a team. Strong credit analysis and credit underwriting experience. Proven record in managing credit quality and compliance with policies and procedures. Demonstrable experience in both mortgage and business lending. Involvement in strategy development and experience of successful implementation desirable Have a proven track record in delivering results to achieve personal work goals and objectives. Strong member focus and a proven commitment to service excellence. Robust organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. Ability to assess, critically evaluate and interpret complex information and to identify key credit risk drivers Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to adapt to new situations IT skills, with strong database analysis and Microsoft Office capabilities A strong knowledge of financial compliance regulations Excellent negotiation skills with ability to identify key risk issues in negotiation of borrowing facilities and to deliver alternative solutions if required. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with exemplary governance and ethics.
