ProductionJob PurposeManage the daily operations of the Effluent Plant, Odour Abatement System, and Cat 3 waste areas, ensuring all environmental, safety, and production standards are met. This role is responsible for the diligent monitoring of plant conditions, the strict management of chemicals, and effective coordination with external suppliers to ensure seamless waste collection and operational continuityReports ToProduction Managers Plant 1Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:Plant Operations & MonitoringMonitor operating conditions including tank levels, valves, pumps, and motors to ensure optimal performanceRecord and track operational data such as meter readings, gauge levels, and pH/flow data on required checklistsAdjust equipment controls as necessary to purify and clarify water and dispose of waste efficientlyRespond to emergencies at the Effluent Plant to prevent environmental discharge or system failureIdentify and report technical malfunctions or repair needs immediately to the maintenance/engineering teamControl all equipment within the assigned area, operating strictly in accordance with provided training and approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Escalate issues by reporting any equipment malfunctions or technical concerns immediately to the maintenance and engineering teamAttend PIT meetingsChemical & Waste ManagementManage chemical stocks required for the Effluent Plant, CIP kitchen and Odour Abatement System, ensuring safe operating levels at all timesSafely prepare and add chemicals (e.g., sulfadox, acids, or other specialized reagents) accordingly to SOPsSupport the production team in Plant 1 with their Category 3 waste and recyclables management needsOversee the Cat 3 Waste Area, maintaining high standards of hygiene and co ordinating timely collectionsEnsure all waste data is recorded in dedicated logbooksLiaise with external suppliers to schedule deliveries of chemicals and collections of waste to maintain smooth operationsCompliance, Quality & HygieneCollect and test effluent samples using analysis standards to ensure treated water meets regulatory and company quality standardsMeet daily production targets related to output, waste, yield, and efficiency by working effectively as part of a teamMaintain work area hygiene by keeping machines, tanks, and any other equipment in tidy and safe conditionExecute cleaning schedules to ensure all equipment is washed and maintained as per agreed standardsAdhere to Quality standards as set out by the business, following all hygiene and safety proceduresLiaise with Shift Supervisors regularly to monitor and plan all waste collections effectivelyDrive process improvements by offering suggestions or new initiatives to develop and optimize the processSkills / Qualifications / ExperiencePrevious experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, particularly in wastewater or effluent treatmentBasic proficiency in computers (e.g., for recording data) and strong mathematical/analytical skills for reading gauges and calculating dosagesForklift license is essentialMandatory use of safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and chemical-resistant gloves/clothing when handling hazardous materialsAbility to perform physical tasks such as climbing tanks, turning manual valves, and lifting objects (e.g., chemical containers)Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the hazards associated with specific plant chemicals to prevent accidental mixing or exposurePossession of a Safe Pass or equivalent health and safety training for industrial environmentsGood interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent understanding of food safety and health & safety processesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAt least 6 months in FCMGAbility to work in a team environmentShows flexibility in all aspects of the roleUnderstands the needs of the business in order to be successfulIs proactive and thinks aheadPlease confirm which shift pattern you are applying for.Shift patterns available: 06:00 – 14:30 or 14:00 – 22:30Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.
