Job Overview
Do you have a background in Mechanical Design Engineering and are looking to join a progressive engineering organization? Rockwell is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on our permanent, full‑time roster at the Cork City headquarters.
Responsibilities
Design and production of 2D, 3D BIM models for Mission Critical, Pharma, Med‑Tech and Manufacturing projects.
Prepare and manage P&IDs, AF&IDs, calculations and equipment schedules.
Develop building services layouts, manage drawing registers and uphold standards.
Collaborate with tenders, bids, temporary works, site and project teams.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary client representatives, project managers, site supervisors and the internal design team.
Report directly to the Engineering Design Manager.
Ensure modelling meets required standards as outlined in the BEP documentation.
Walk through projects with senior engineers and help assemble design proposals.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Honours degree (Level 7/8) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
3–4 years minimum experience within a design‑team environment.
Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit MEP, BIM 360, AutoCAD, Solid Works or Navisworks (benefit).
Ability to work in a vibrant, multidisciplinary collaborative environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience reviewing existing systems and proposing improvements.
Strong work ethic and self‑starter attitude.
Membership of Engineers Ireland/ASHRAE or similar is encouraged.
