Job Title: Fire Prevention Officer
Location: Cork & Kerry
Client: State Organisation
Salary: €55,000 - €60,000 (DOE) plus mileage, 30 days annual leave, bank holidays
About the Role
We are seeking a Fire Prevention Officer to join our client’s expert team, providing high-level fire safety and property services in the Cork and Kerry region. You will play a vital role in ensuring that legal and regulatory fire safety standards are met and exceeded across a diverse property portfolio, including hospitals and public buildings.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, fire equipment, and escape routes.
2. Develop and implement fire evacuation plans tailored to various premises.
3. Deliver fire safety training and conduct drills across locations.
4. Advise on equipment standards and fire prevention best practices.
5. Investigate incidents and produce detailed reports.
6. Monitor external contractors’ compliance with safety regulations.
7. Participate in safety and risk committees, contributing to planning and budgeting for fire safety works.
8. Maintain records, report on fire safety performance, and identify training needs.
9. Support the development of emergency plans and advise on government fire safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* A Level 7 qualification (HETAC/NFQ) in Engineering, Fire Engineering, Architecture, Health & Safety, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fire safety-related role.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety.
* Equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
