Réalta Technologies are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong Allen-Bradley PLC expertise to support a leading Medical Device client in Cork. Responsibilities
* Lead the programming, testing, and commissioning of Allen-Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve automation and control issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
* Integrate PLCs with HMI/SCADA platforms (such as FactoryTalk View) and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Maintain and update all technical documentation, including system configurations, code annotations, and schematics.
* Support system upgrades, validation, and compliance activities in line with regulatory standards.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability.
* Provide technical input and mentorship to junior engineers or technicians as required.
Requirements
* Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, or related field.
* 4–5 years' experience as an Automation Engineer in a manufacturing environment (medical device or pharma preferred).
* Proven experience with Allen-Bradley platforms (Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000) and HMI/SCADA integration.
* Good knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, or ControlNet.
* Understanding of validation, compliance, and data integrity within regulated industries.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
